W. STEWARTSTOWN – William T. Braun, 96, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter in W. Stewartstown on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, after a prolonged period of declining health.

He was born in Suffolk County, N.Y., on Oct. 21, 1928, a son of the late Peter and Margaret (Stoothoff) Braun. He was a life-long resident of Long Island, N.Y.

The majority of his working years were spent as a truck driver for the New York-based Pinter Brothers trucking company. He was also a talented carpenter and would often lend his talents and engineering mind to help his friends and family. He could build and repair just about anything.

William loved to be outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his daughter, Phyliss Braun of W. Stewartstown, and two sons, William and Michael Braun, both of Vermont; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mae, two brothers and one sister.

There are no public calling hours or services scheduled. A private interment will occur on a later date in New York.
