Anne Dunlap Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 5, 2025.
Anne Leslie Dunlap, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, church member, teacher, and friend, passed away at home on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Anne was born in Middletown, Ohio, on June 8, 1956, to David and Gail Mackenroth. She grew up in Sacramento, CA, with her three younger siblings, Scott, Arlene, and Jason. According to Arlene, "Anne put her heart and soul into everything she did. She was smart and funny and loved going to Sunday School and reading books. I looked up to her." Anne's teen summers were spent at a church camp in northern California, Camp Verdant Vales, which was spiritually formative and helped inspire her lifelong commitment to serving God and others as a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist.

Anne's exuberant love and kindness were recognized by all who knew her. Highlights of her career included teaching English as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya, teaching ESL to Chinese, Mexican, and Polish immigrants, teaching lower grades at Yountville and Mt. George Elementary schools, tutoring students of all ages, and teaching Sunday School for many years.

Anne lives on in the expressions of grace and strength she so beautifully shared with others, especially her husband of 37 years, Jeff, her two daughters, Amanda (AJ) and Jessica (Chris), and her four beloved grandchildren, Alden, Stevie, Zoe, and Ollie, who affectionately know her as "Bibi."

As the book of Proverbs says, "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies" (Prov. 31:10).

A celebration of life will be held for Anne at the Yountville Community Center on Saturday, September 13, at 1:00pm. Please email Jessica at [email protected] if you would like to attend. Anne Leslie Dunlap
