Anne Henley Crump Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ideal Funeral Parlor - Florence on Jan. 3, 2026.
It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Anne Yvonne Henley Crump, 75 of Quinby who peacefully passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this time of loss and remembrance.
Anne Yvonne Henley Crump, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, educator, and faithful servant of God, passed away surrounded by love. Born in 1950 in Richmond, Virginia, Anne was the daughter of William Henley and Hilda Truman Henley. Her family later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she was raised alongside her sister, Josephine.
Anne attended Rose Middle School, a school that continues to educate students today, and she graduated from the Philadelphia School System. With a deep love for learning and a calling to serve, she pursued higher education at Penn State University, Temple University, and Francis Marion University. Anne earned her degree in Education and later completed a Master's degree in Education, dedicating her life to students and schools with both excellence and compassion.
A lifelong educator, Anne taught at Rhodes Middle School, Robert Smalls, and Timrod Elementary. She also served with distinction at Francis Marion University, where she led the Science in Elementary Education program and was honored as Teacher of the Year. Even beyond the classroom, Anne remained committed to young people and her community. She volunteered at Timrod Elementary School, sponsored and supported Williams Heights community organizations, and spent countless hours mentoring and tutoring students. Many lives were changed because Anne chose to show up, encourage, and believe in others.
Anne was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, serving in the Epsilon Chi Omega chapter in Florence. She was also a Golden Soror and pledged at Pennsylvania State University.
In 1973, Anne married the love of her life, Leon Crump, at Waylon Temple Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
Anne was a devoted member of New Harvest Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully as an usher and an elder. Her faith guided her life, and her example strengthened everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside of her work and service, Anne found joy in the things that filled her spirit, especially reading. She loved books, thoughtful conversation, and the friendships built through her book club. She also enjoyed swimming, and those close to her will remember how she made time for the simple things that brought peace and happiness.
Anne leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Leon Crump; her daughters, Keli Christodolou and Camilla Parker (Dr. Stephen); her grandchildren, Bella Christodolou, Henley Christodolou, Carlin Parker, and Sydney Parker; her sister, Josephine LaMarr; her niece, Danielle LaMarr; her nephew, Bryan LaMarr; and many extended family members, former students, colleagues, church family, and dear friends.
At this time the family will not be receiving friends at the residence.
