While at Republic High School, she was an outstanding music student, and in fact, became a member of the High School Band during her late elementary years. She played the piccolo and the flute, and upon graduation had the distinct honor of never receiving less than the top rating of 1 at State Music contests all four of her high school years.
Her freshman year of high school she was honored by being chosen to represent Republic Band as a piccolo player when the United States Navy Band came through Springfield on tour. She stood in front of the band and played Stars and Stripes Forever, marching along with the Navy Band members. She attended the Missouri State Band clinic at MU her sophomore and junior summers. She was also chosen as a visiting guest with the Springfield Symphony as a flute player her senior year of high school. She was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, youth leader, member of the United Methodist Women, and junior choir director. She recently attended Wesley United Methodist, where her love for music continued as a member of the alto section of the Chancel Choir.
Anne loved to travel and took several trips with her friends from her Church. She was also an avid country music fan and loved to sing along with the radio. She was a "people person" and seldom met a stranger, or at least they weren't for long. She was blessed with lots of friends.
