Anne Pennington Perry

Anne Pennington Perry, long time resident of DeKalb County, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

She was born to Ralph W. Pennington and Kathryn Johnson Pennington in Covington, Georgia on November 30, 1936. Anne graduated from Decatur High School in 1955 and the University of Georgia in 1959, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. A grammar school teacher, she returned to the Georgia campus for graduate work in 1964, and there met Richard Owen Perry, an Army officer recently assigned to duty at the University. They were married in 1965, and after an active life in the Army, retired in DeKalb County to be with family.

Anne is survived by her husband, Richard Perry; by their son, Michael James Perry of Hilton Head, South Carolina and granddaughter, Kathryn T. Perry of Newport Beach, California; and by her sister, Nancy Bullard Verdi of DeKalb County, Georgia, and by Nancy's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 5373 Wydella Rd SW, Lilburn, GA 30047, with Fr. Brian Lorei officiating. A visitation and viewing will be one hour prior to the Funeral Mass from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Covington City Cemetery (Southview Cemetery) in Covington, Georgia.
