Anne Sarao Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Anne Sarao, who left us peacefully on October 19, 2025 at the age of 68. A cherished wife, stepmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to so many, Anne was a bright shining star in all of our lives.

Born on September 12, 1957, Anne grew up in Martinsville, NJ, where she developed a passion for golf, her dogs, reading, and traveling. Her true passion was for her family; traveling with Tom and Beth Ann, spending time with Matthew and Megan, golfing with Chris and shopping with Maria. She put her heart into caring for her family and friends and was always looking to lend a helping hand. She touched all who knew her with her overwhelming kind heart and compassion. She was thoughtful beyond measure.

After earning a degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Anne entered the corporate business world and spent 35 years as a Human Resources professional across various companies, including 18+ years at Lockheed Martin as a senior HR leader. She also earned her MBA at Monmouth University while working full time. After retiring from Lockheed Martin, Anne continued as a Career Coach at Lee Hecht Harrison until very recently.

Anne was a leader. She loved sharing her talent for planning and organizing with everyone who knew her and in whatever capacity needed. Whether it was helping those starting a new career, wedding planning for her Goddaughter, sending out her golf tee times, or planning Women's Game Day; she put her heart and soul into it all. She was very active in her community and spent many beautiful days playing golf with her dear friends in the Women's Golf Association at Bear Trap Dunes.

Anne is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, father, Arthur Gregory, stepdaughter, Beth Ann Stone, her brother, Christopher Gregory (Maria), and sister Jill Anderson. She is also survived by her nephew and nieces; Matthew (Amelia), Megan (Tyler) and Christy (Justin) along with her great nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her mother Jane Gregory and niece Ashley Ludwig. Anne was loved by all who knew her whether it was friends from her high school and college days or those who she met only a handful of times.

Anne taught us the importance of courage, compassion, understanding, and the power of a loving embrace. Her laughter and warmth will forever resonate in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Melson's Funeral Home, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, DE 19970 on Thursday, October 23rd from 5pm-7pm. On Friday, October 24th visitation will be at Saint Ann's Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE 19930 at 10:00am followed by Mass at 11:00am. Interment will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, a cause that was close to Anne's heart. Donations may be sent to 100 W 10th St., Suite 209, Wilmington, DE 19801 or debreastcancer.org.
