Annette Robinson Edwards, affectionately known as Yvonne to those who knew her best, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, in Greenville, North Carolina. Born on September 1, 1951, in the vibrant neighborhood of Brooklyn, Yvonne's journey through life was one of caring, sharing, and loving deeply.
Yvonne was the cherished daughter of Gloria and Howard Robinson, who both preceded her in death. Throughout her life, she exemplified the strength and warmth that she inherited from her parents. Yvonne's love and legacy live on through her beloved daughter, Amina White, who was the light of her life. She was a sister who shared an unbreakable bond with Yolanda Moore and her husband James, Loretta Davis and her husband Lawrence, Anthony Robinson and his wife Bonnie, Shuaib Raheem and his wife Joann, and Michael Robinson and his wife Sue. Yvonne was also a guiding presence in the lives of her three brothers, Ronald, Donald, and Howard Robinson Jr., who preceded her in death.
Her life was further enriched by the joyous laughter and endless energy of her grandchildren, Kristia Boomer, JoDavin White, Jodi White, Karizma White, and Kaziah White. Her great-grandchild, KhaMina Boomer, added another layer of happiness to her later years. A matriarch in her own right, Yvonne's heart and home were always open to her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and kindness.
Yvonne's professional life was marked by her dedication to caring for others. She was a Registered Nurse and a skilled Respiratory Therapist, a vocation that she embraced with passion first in New York and then in North Carolina. Her colleagues in the medical field admired her for her expertise, her gentle touch, and the comfort she provided to patients and their families.
Spiritually inclined, Yvonne walked a path of personal faith that guided her through the ups and downs of life. Her spiritual beliefs were the foundation upon which she built her life, offering solace and strength to herself and those around her.
An avid lover of nature, Yvonne found peace and pleasure in fishing, where the quiet patience of the sport mirrored the tranquility she cultivated within her soul. Music also played a significant role in Yvonne's life, as she found joy in playing and listening to melodies that resonated with her spirit.
Yvonne's departure from this world leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the enduring power of human connection. Her life story is a testament to the impact one individual can have on the lives of many.
