Annette Lois McCarn, a beloved soul who brought joy to those around her, passed away on March 4, 2025. Born on May 26, 1943, in Newport News, Virginia, Annette graced the world with her kindness and talent, living a life full of love and devotion to her family and community.
Annette enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring after 25 years from Napa Auto Parts. Her work ethic and dedication were matched only by her passion for nurturing and caring for others. She was a longtime member of North Main Baptist Church in Mt. Holly, NC, where she found immense joy with the kids in children’s church, sharing her warmth and love in every encounter.
Known for her caretaking personality, Annette had a remarkable love for all, and making sure everyone was taken care of. She created lasting memories with her granddaughter Jennifer. Magical memories whether through her exquisite crocheting—most notably a stunning 7-foot Santa Claus—or through her delightful baking, where she became renowned for her irresistible pound cakes and many Sunday dinners that could feed an army. Her green thumb brought beauty to life, as she reveled in planting fields of roses and gardening. Annette also had a love for cats and a favorite one she called Furbie. She cherished the peaceful moments spent at the beach with her late husband, Wayne McCarn Sr., whenever time allowed. After the passing of her beloved husband, her heart overflowed with love for her son who she cherished and loved beyond words.
Annette is lovingly remembered by her family. She is survived by her son, Wayne McCarn Jr.; her grandchildren, Jennifer McCarn and Brandon McCarn; and her great-grandson, Tyler Crider. Her sisters, Phyllis Henderson and Sylvia Pressley (Ronnie), carry forward her vibrant legacy within their hearts.
Annette's presence will be celebrated at a Celebration of Life Service on March 10, 2025 at Benson Funeral & Cremation, located at 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120.
Friends and family are invited to gather at 1:00 PM to share memories of a woman whose spirit was as bright as the roses she loved to plant. A memorial celebration will begin at 2:00 PM. Following the Celebration of Life, a graveside service will be concluded at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, also in Mt. Holly.
She is reunited now with her parents, Glenn and Marjorie Lanier, and her beloved husband, Wayne McCarn Sr., who surely awaits her with open arms. Annette leaves behind not just memories, but a legacy of love, compassion, and creativity that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
