Born on August 12, 1954, in
Kalamazoo, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of John and Marian (Dettling) Towsley, who lovingly chose her from the very beginning. Annette's life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and kindness.
Annette's journey through life was one of joy and purpose. On June 22, 1973, she married the love of her life, Mr. William A. Newman, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Morrice. Their union was a profound source of happiness, and together they welcomed two wonderful children into the world, Stacy and Matthew. Annette's role as a wife and mother was one she embraced with every fiber of her being, and her family grew to include her adoring grandchildren, Alex, Emily (Devin), and Tyler (Kadin), as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Avery, Liam, James, and Benjamin.
Annette's siblings who she reunited with-Kevin, Maria, Theresa, Mark, Matthew, Christine, and Cecila-were an integral part of her life's tapestry. The bonds she shared with them were a source of strength and comfort, and their reunion is a moment of joy amidst the sorrow of her passing. She now also joins her beloved parents, with whom raised her to be the amazing woman we know call family.
Professionally, Annette was a woman of remarkable talent and compassion. After graduating from Craig's School of Beauty in Lansing, she became a licensed beautician in 1973. Annette's work was more than a career; it was a calling. She dedicated herself to creating wigs for women and toupees for men, helping those who had lost their hair due to illness or treatment. Her ability to restore self-esteem and provide comfort to her clients was a gift she gave generously and with her whole heart.
Annette's passion for music began in her childhood, with piano lessons taken before her feet could even touch the pedals. This love of music was a constant thread throughout her life, bringing joy to her and those around her. But above all, her greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Annette and Bill lived life to the fullest, sharing adventures such as casino trips and attending bowling tournaments from Reno to Syracuse. Each experience was an opportunity to celebrate their love and the family they had built together.
Annette Elizabeth Newman is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Bill, their loving children, Stacy (Chad) Booth and Matthew (Valerie) Newman, her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her dear siblings.
Those who knew Annette can attest to her loving nature, her unwavering faith, and her selfless spirit. She approached every day with a heart full of grace and a desire to make the world a better place.
