Annette Queen Smith, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and devoted friend, passed away surrounded by her family, on Thursday November 6, 2025 at the age of 63. She was born on July 24, 1962 in Lynchburg, Va. She was the daughter of the late James W. Smith Sr. and Olivia Clark Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James W. Smith Jr (Jimmy), and sister Alice Hunt (Frutie).
Annette graduated from E.C. Glass High School. In her spare time, she enjoyed her two grandsons, traveling, shopping, exploring new places and her flowers. Annette worked at Privia Health for a number of years where she was much loved by her co-workers.
Annette leaves behind a legacy of love and family: one loving son, Trey Smith (Alicia); two wonderful grandsons, Jaeden and Jordan Smith, all of Concord Va.; one loving sister Barbara Smith of Lynchburg, Va; two loving nieces Shaye Smith of Cleveland Oh, and Genelle Smith, Curtchelle Delaney of Lynchburg, Va; three nephews, James W. Smith III (Little Jim), Jamie Bradshaw and Malik Shabazz.
She too will be cherished by other nieces and nephews; one matriach cousin of the family, Mary Fleshman, three dedicated cousins, Vannasa White (Charles), Janice Marshall and Larry Clark; three devoted cousins Jesse Nubie Jr (Jen), Chris Nubie (Tonya), Garland Clark (Shirley) and others; three devoted and loving friends, Dionne Jones, Vickie Kennedy, Vicky Bradley and others.
May she rest in eternal peace. Her memory will live on through her love, smile and those who were a part of her remarkable journey.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 2:00P.M. at Crossroad Baptist Church in Evington, VA. She will lie in repose for public viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
