Annie Ruth Allison

Tunica, MS.

Annie Ruth Allison, 76, passed away on February 15th, 2026, at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was born June 24th, 1949, in Hollywood, MS to Aline Lacy Stroud and Paul G. Stroud, Sr.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Addie Lee "Al" Allison, and her sister, Katie Pauline Stroud, who she ensured lived a long and fruitful life despite her disabilities. She is survived by her siblings Paul G. Stroud Jr. (Betty), Nancy Purvis, Mary Jo Shearon, and Jimmy Dale Lacy (Lynda), whom she loved like a brother. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Elizabeth Allison Cooper (Keith), her nieces, Martha Purvis Ross, Cindy Stroud, Holly McKinney (Jeremy), and Marlo Purvis Grehan, and her great nieces and nephews, Mary Aline Purvis, Madison Kate Ross, Anne Lawton Ross, Jones Wesley Ross III, Kate Forrest Grehan, Elizabeth Marie Grehan, Molly Anne Grehan, Cole McKinney, Grant McKinney, and Jorja McKinney.

Annie Ruth loved life deeply and with such excitement that you couldn't help but get excited with her. She had such a vigor for life that inspired so many. Anne was very proud of her lifelong career working for the Mississippi State Extension Service and the time dedicated to conservation. She held many titles over the years, but if you asked her, the most important ones were Daughter, Sister, and Aunt. She loved her family with her entire being. Anyone will tell you she was the best storyteller they knew, captivating everyone with memories from days past, lighting up a room and filling it with laughter. She was a caretaker through and through, never giving up on anyone who came her way. A true hero for the underdog, she always rooted people on, no matter how big or small the accomplishment. She may have had no children of her own, but she has many people in this world that she treated as such, all serving as a testament to her life. Her dedication to her loved ones will forever be remembered.

Her family would like to extend thanks to her wonderful friends and care givers, who filled her life with joy and gave her the freedom to continue to live at home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21st, 10:00am - 11:00am at Memorial Funeral Home in Tunica, MS. immediately followed by graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to:
