Annie Elizabeth Argo

Annie Elizabeth Argo passed away May 8, 2025 at the age of 79 at Baptist South in Montgomery after a brief illness. She was born March 7, 1946 to the late Harlie Robertson and Annie Hysaw Robertson.

Elizabeth, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, carried with her loving spirit that touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Elizabeth graduated from Maplesville High School in 1964, embarking on a journey that would ultimately lead her to a fulfilling career at Beechcraft / Aerospace, where she dedicated many years of her life as a supply clerk. Her work was marked by diligence and an unwavering commitment to her team, demonstrating the same kindness and dedication in her professional life that she exhibited at home.

Elizabeth's sweet nature and gentle demeanor were hallmarks of her personality. She was known as the "textbook best grandma," a title she wore proudly as she embraced the joy of playing with her great-grandchildren, delighting in their laughter and boundless energy. Even at the age of 79, Elizabeth could still be found on the floor, immersed in play, a testament to her eternal youthfulness and love for family.

A woman of faith, Elizabeth cherished her relationship with the Lord, reading her Bible every day and praying every night. This daily ritual was not just a habit but a source of strength and comfort that reflected her deep convictions and values. Her kind heart was matched only by her ability to find beauty in the simple pleasures of life. She had a unique affection for hummingbirds, spending her mornings watching them through the window, during her morning devotions with coffee. Her home was a reflection of her vibrant spirit, always adorned with colorful flowers that she nurtured with care.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Larry Argo; children, Kenneth (Ginger) Argo and Donna Argo Murphy; grandchildren, Benjamin (Jenny) Argo, Charlie Argo, Justin Murphy, Jennifer (Michael) Smith, Alex (Camryn) Argo and Elijah Lewis; great-grandchildren, Caroline Argo, Margaret Argo, Ellie Grace Smith and Owen Smith; brother, Jack Robertson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Blake and Dr. Michael Watts officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. A private family burial will follow. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.

Elizabeth leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her warm smile, nurturing presence, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered by her family and friends. With each story shared, each flower appreciated, and each hummingbird that visits her garden, Elizabeth's memory will continue to flourish, reminding all who knew her of the beautiful soul she was.
