Annie Lucille Govan

Annie Lucille Bacon Govan was called to Heaven on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
She was born on September 15, 1939 and raised in the Clarksville area of Austin, Texas to William Henry Bacon and Louise (Bryant) Bacon. Annie was the third of seven children and attended East Austin schools, graduating from Anderson High School and later attending St. Edward's University. Annie accepted Christ early in her life and attended Rosewood Avenue Baptist Church until her health failed.
Annie met and married Autrie C. Govan and from this union 10 children were born: Ronald, Cheryl, Broderick, Quinton, Terrance, Autrie, Monica, Chris, Tiffiny, and Dexter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Autrie C. Govan, sons Quinton Bacon and Terrance Bacon, her sister Martha Williams, her brother Albin Bacon, and her parents William Henry Bacon and Louise Bacon. Annie is survived by her children, Ronald Bacon, Cheryl Greene, Broderick Bacon, Autrie Bacon, Monica Bacon, Christopher Govan, Tiffiny Govan, and Dexter Govan. Annie was affectionately known as "G" to a host of grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids. She is survived by her siblings Dr. William Louis Bacon, Helen Smith, Mary Johnson, and Gwendolyn Miller as well as a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many many special friends and adoptive family.
Annie was a great mother, sister, aunt, friend, and mentor to many. Annie's inspiration and sound advice helped many of those she came in contact with. Always the life of the party, and a great cook, she loved family gatherings and holidays. Annie left a lasting impression on all that came in contact with her. She was loved by many and will be truly missed. The family would like to thank Charity Collier for the care and attentiveness she provided to Annie in her final years.

Funeral Services to be hosted at Rosewood Avenue Baptist Church - 1820 Rosewood Ave., Austin TX - 78702 starting at 1:00 pm
