Annie Pope Obituary
Coats, NC: Mrs. Annie Whitman Pope, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Coats Church of God in Coats, NC. Rev. Hollis Fedrick will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier, NC.
Mrs. Pope was born on October 2, 1932, in Johnston County, NC to the late Charlie and Ada Norris Whitman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earl Pope, son, Danny Pope, and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Pope was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed working in her yards with her flowers, and was a member of Coats Church of God in Coats, NC.
Survivors include her children, Nina Vinson of Erwin, NC, Dennis Pope and wife Karen, of Coats, NC, Linda Benson and husband, Timmy of Benson, NC, Sandra Pope of Coats, NC, Jerry Pope and wife, Becky of Coats, NC, and Teresa Parker and husband, Donnie of Benson, NC; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, two great-great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-great-grandson; sisters, Shirley Temple of Virginia, and Dorothy Howman of Coats, NC; many nieces and nephews, special dog, Lady.
The family will receive friends 1:45PM-2:45PM, Thursday, May 11, 2023 prior to the service at Coats Church of God 223 S. Isabella Street, Coats, NC 27521 and other times at the home.
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers, and would like to show their appreciation to Promedica Hospice for their love shown to Mrs. Pope.
