Annie Rocker

Annie Lee Jones was born on January 17, 1938, in Eufaula, Alabama. She was born to the union of Frank Jones and Emma (Colbert) Jones. As a young girl, Annie and her family moved to Michigan where she received her education through the Monroe Public School System.
Annie met the love of her life: John Rocker and the couple married on a summer day, July 10, 1954. Their home soon became filled with the laughter and energy of five children, each bringing their unique spark to the family. Even though she was gainfully employed through Ford Motor Company, Annie reveled in the chaos and joy of raising her children, finding happiness in the small moments of everyday life. Her love for Rhythm and Blues music filled the house with melodies, and she often found herself dancing in the kitchen or the living room, sometimes with her kids in tow.
Annie's Television habits became part of her cherished rituals. She never missed an episode of "The Price is Right," her mornings brightened by the excitement of the show. Her admiration for Steve Harvey was well-known, as she truly loved his humor and sincerity.
Above all, Annie was the heart of her family, born a natural nurturer whose compassion extended beyond her children. When several of her nieces and nephews faced the tragedy of losing their parents, Annie became a guiding light for them. She offered her home, her wisdom, and her support.
Annie Lee Rocker, age 87, of Romulus, passed away at 1:00am on Wednesday; May 7, 2025 at her home. Her passing was preceded by her parents; two children: Teresa Calhoun and Willie Rocker; and a grandson: Nathan Dedo.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved husband of more than seventy years: John Rocker of Romulus; three children: Donley Rocker, Sr., Clifford (Karen) Rocker, and Sheila Rocker; two siblings: Colton Jones, Sr. and Geraldine Jones-Buford; seven grandchildren: Donley Rocker Jr, Roslynn Rocker, Christopher Rocker, Christina Rocker, Ryan Rocker, Jeremy Rocker, and Willie Rocker, Jr.; thirteen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Friends may gather from 9:00am until 12:00pm on Thursday; May 15, 2025, at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Homegoing Celebration of Her Life will take place at 12:00pm, also at Merkle's. Cremation will follow through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
