Castorland – Heida L. Rocker, 63, of State Route 410, wife of Francis Jr., passed away on September 17, 2025 at Wynn Hospital, Utica, while surrounded by her loving family.
Heida was born on September 28, 1961 in Rome, a daughter of Chester and Cathleen Letson Kirk. She grew up in Westernville, where she received her education at Holland Patent Central School. Heida was united in marriage with Francis Rocker, Jr. on November 24, 1979 at the Boonville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
For several years Heida was employed as a manager for McDonald’s Restaurants, working at their Yorkville and Old Forge locations. For a time she was also employed as a clerk for Fastrac, and in housekeeping at Clark’s Beach Motel, both in Old Forge.
Heida was a very talented crocheter, and enjoyed making blankets, teddy bears, tea cups and various figurines. She also was an avid Bingo player attending many games with her mother Cathleen. Cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren are precious memories her family will always remember.
Besides her husband Francis Jr., she is survived by her children: Francis Rocker, III and his significant other Dawn Ingersoll, Lowville, Kayla Dickinson (Tom Jr.), New Bremen, Michael (Amber) Rocker, Ithaca, and Matthew (Melissa) Rocker, Rome; as well as her grandchildren: Justin Dickinson, Paige Dickinson, and Chloe Rocker. She is also survived by her siblings: Jody Kirk, Dwayne Kirk, Wendy Baslow, and Sally Williams, and her faithful canine friend and companion Charly. She was predeceased by her parents Chester and Cathleen Kirk.
In keeping with Heida’s wishes there will be no services. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box # 682, Lowville, New York 13367.
