Annie Purl Terry was born on July 12,1953 in Waxahachie, Texas in Ellis, County, to the parents of Ozie and Ocie McCuin. She was the sixth child of seven children. She departed this life on Sunday August 24, 2025, in Jacksonville, TX.
She was raised in Coffee City, Texas and attended school at Brownsboro High School in Brownsboro, Texas where she received her high school diploma in 1973. On December 19,1975, Annie married the love of her life Sammy Hugh Terry of Logansport, Louisiana. They moved to Jacksonville Texas where she lived as a housewife, a caregiver to her mother and aunt, and an amazing mother to her five daughters and many more. Later in life she acquired a position at Bonner Place as a dishwasher where she worked until she retired. She gave her life to Christ at a young age. She was a faithful member of New Birth Church of the Living God, where she served as an usher and worked on the financial committee. She enjoyed reading her bible, gospel music and spending time with her family.
Annie Purl is preceded in death by her parents Ozie and Ocie McCuin, her husband Sammy Terry, her brothers Ozell, Ersell, and Ezell McCuin, her sister Pearlie B Rainey, and son-in-law Robert Cunigan.
Annie Purl leaves to cherish her memories her children Latoshia McCuin, Angela and Chris Bearden, Tameka Cunigan, Ocie Terry and Jordan Harris, Christa Terry, and Karen McKeever; her brothers Othel and John L. McCuin; in laws Burtis and Juanita Handy, Earl Handy, Gloria Bolden, Shirley Roberts, Maude Handy; grandchildren; Kameron Mathis, Roman Jordan, Samantha Terry, Amari Collins, Oleke Jordan, Savannah Hamilton, Bethany Hamilton, Leonna Terry, Samari Jordan, Sammie Terry, Elizabeth Hamilton, Kaileena Terry, Simone Terry, Christopher Terry, Anthony McKeever, Tamara McKeever, Denecia Hudson, Chanteria Mckeever, Christopher Bearden Jr. and Cash Bearden; nine great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
