Annie Mae Wilson departed this life on Monday, September 1, 2025, in Portsmouth, VA, while a patient at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. Annie Mae was born on August 15, 1952, in Washington, DC, to the late Cleo Howard Wilson & Corean Griffin Wilson.

Annie Mae attended Georgie D. Tyler School in Isle of Wight County, VA, Vicksville School in Southampton County, and Hayden High School in Franklin, Virginia. She was known for her unwavering kindness, infectious laughter, and a heart full of love. No matter where she was, she never met a stranger. She dedicated her life to her family, her community, and her passions.

In the 1970s, Annie Mae was employed by High's Ice Cream. She went on to begin a career in construction until the late 1980s.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Catherine Wilson & Gloria Jean Wilson; a brother, James Luther Wilson, and a special cousin, Inez Griffin Skinner.

Memories of Annie Mae will live on in the hearts of her two daughters: Corean Laverne Wilson & Cresha L. Wilson, both of Portsmouth, VA; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; one sister: Bernice G. Cannon of Sedley, VA; Two brothers: Percell Wilson (Vanessa) and Raymond Wilson of Portsmouth, VA; Godchildren: Michelle Rayford, Shelby Rayford, Payton Rayford & Argo Rayford, all of Portsmouth, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
