Anthony Bowling Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Urban Winkler Funeral Home - Connersville on Dec. 24, 2025.
Anthony Bowling passed away in Indianapolis, IN, on December 21, 2025, at the age of 54. He was born on January 5, 1971, in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of Dixie Hawkins Bowling and the late Hebron Bowling.

Born with spina bifida, he lived most of his life in a wheelchair, yet his life was meaningful and impactful. Anthony faithfully attended Bethel Apostolic Church, where he was deeply loved by many. He had a fun-loving spirit and good heart for others. In his younger years, Tony, as he was known to his friends, befriended many of the teens in the church, often driving them places, spending time with them, and striving to be a wise friend and counsel. His kindness, loyalty, and genuine care left a lasting impression on many lives.

His kindness, love, and memories will be cherished by his mother, Dixie many aunts, uncles, cousins and all his extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Hebron Bowling; sister Patricia Bowling; nephew, Matthew Bowling; grandparents, Charles T. and Grace (Bell) Hawkins and Taylor and Lela (Hammons) Bowling.

Anthony's life was a testimony that true worth is found in faith, love, and friendship to others. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away"-Revelations 21:4

Friends and family may gather at Bethel Apostolic Church on Tuesday December 30, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
