Anthony Quintos Cornista, a man of unwavering discipline, humble strength, and profound devotion to his family, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. He was 64 years old.

Born on June 13, 1961, in Tacloban, Philippines, Anthony was the youngest of seven siblings. From his youth, he was defined by a deep sense of responsibility and a protective care for those he loved. He pursued his education at Leyte State College and Divine Word University, eventually answering the call to serve his country in the Philippine Army Reserve. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, his military service forged the resilience and sense of duty that would guide him through every chapter of his life.

Anthony's professional journey was marked by service. He worked at Tacloban City Hall under the City Mayor and later served as a supply officer for the Department of Education. It was during his time with the Department of Education that he met Jocelyn Diaz Sabela, a devoted public school teacher. They were married on June 1, 1997, beginning a partnership built on shared dreams and mutual support. In 1998, they welcomed their son, Mark, who became the light of Anthony's life.

A true global citizen, Anthony spent time in Vancouver, Canada, working in various industries and gaining a broad perspective on the world before returning to the Philippines. However, his ultimate goal was to provide the best possible future for his wife and son.

On January 11, 2011, Anthony immigrated to the United States accompanied by his Grandma. With the help of his eldest sister, Eve, he successfully brought his family to the U.S. to begin a new chapter. For five years, the family was supported by the warmth and hospitality of the Aranguren family. Anthony's work ethic was legendary; he worked at Marazzi USA and later dedicated over a decade of service to GISD maintenance, often holding a second job at Potato Corner USA. He never complained, seeing every hour worked as a testament to his love for his family.

Anthony found his greatest joy in life's simple moments-sharing stories, offering wise advice, and cooking meals for those he loved, especially his beloved dinuguan. His kindness and quiet strength left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Anthony is survived by those who loved him most: his devoted wife, Jocelyn, and his son, Mark. He is also survived by his brothers, Edward Cornista, Johny Cornista, and Salvador Jr. Cornista; his sisters, Evelyn Cornista Aranguren, Elizabeth Cornista Tan, and Emily Cornista Savella; and his in-laws, Andrea Cornista, Roland Aranguren, and Chona Cornista. He was preceded in death by his parents, Purita Cornista and Dr. Salvador Cornista.

Anthony's legacy lives on in the love he gave, the values of hard work he upheld, and the beautiful memories he created with his family. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
