Anthony Jacob de Burgo, 35, of Lakeville, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief but courageous battle with illness.

Born in Boston, Anthony was the beloved son of Joseph and Maria Isabel (Baptista) de Burgo, and a lifelong resident of Lakeville. He was a proud graduate of Apponequet Regional High School and the New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island.

Anthony built a career as an insurance agent for The Wealth Agency, where he poured his heart into helping others protect their families and plan for their futures. Before entering the financial services field, he worked in the building construction industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship.

Beyond his professional life, Anthony will be remembered for his generous spirit, quick wit, and the deep love he had for his family. He cherished time with his sister, Elizabeth Venulda Jeffords, and her husband, Philford Floyd Jeffords; his brother, Joseph Matthew de Burgo; and his treasured niece, Amari Eliana de Burgo. His life was also deeply intertwined with the love and support of many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Anthony's presence lit up every room, and his laughter will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday August 16th at 9 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday August 15th from 4-8 PM.
