Anthony J. "Cookie" Del Vecchio Sr., age 87, of West Haven passed away on March 24, 2023. He was born in New Haven, son of the late Anthony E. and Helen Mallard Del Vecchio. Anthony is survived by his children, Donna Del Vecchio of West Haven, Anthony Del Vecchio Jr. of Branford, Nancy (Tod) Nixon of West Haven and Dolores Del Vecchio of West Haven, his grandchildren, Jessica Del Vecchio, Vincent (Nichole) Del Vecchio, Tod and Kyle Nixon and the late Angelica Muniz, his great grandson Julian Del Vecchio, his sister Marilyn Masella and his former wife Colleen Ardito Del Vecchio.
Prior to his retirement, Cookie worked construction and served in the US Army.
Anthony was a simple man. Went to work, provided for his family, and loved his family. He enjoyed watching football on Sundays and was a foodie before it was popular.
The hours for visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Interment will be private.
