Anthony Durante Obituary
Anthony "Tweety" Durante, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Saint Mary's Hospital.
Born in Waterbury on April 19, 1932, Tweety was the son of the late Domenico and Concetta (Palomba) Durante. He worked in the construction field throughout his life and retired from Watertown Construction. Tweety was a proud U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church, bowled in many local leagues and was a diehard, lifelong NY Yankee fan.
He is survived by his brother Alfred Durante and his wife Fran of Waterbury, and his sister-in-law Carol Durante of Bristol as well as several generations of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Angelo "Tokyo" Durante, Henry Durante, Domenic Durante, Jr., and Pellegrino "Bill" Durante and his sister Rosemarie Chevrier.

Tweety was a staple at the Iannicelli
household for many years. My Mom
and Dad, Marion and Adolph, looked forward to his Sunday morning visits for stories galore and smiles like only he
could deliver. Three card poker gave everyone some much needed laughs.
Of course, he joined us on our trips to Mohegan and Foxwoods. Never forget the time he won a minor bonus(5k) and
stood up at the table celebrating, so amazing! The burgers at Bobby Flay’s and the buffet at Foxwoods, so many laughs! You will be missed! I’ll have a shot of Sambuca for you!

I met Tweetie 40 yrs ago at Adolph´s house. He always had a smile on his face and we had a lot of laughs. We would sit at the kitchen table drinking Sambucca and talking about the Yankees. Adolph and Tweetie would always take turns buying the Sambucca. I will miss you my friend you were a good man. Go and be with Adolph so you two can each enjoy hanging out again. God rest your soul John K
