Anthony Hodges Ellis

Anthony H. Ellis was born on December 14, 1958, in Miami, Florida, to the late Mary Etta Ellis and Hoges Ellis.

He began his education at B.F. James Elementary School in Hallandale, Florida. In the 1960s, his family relocated to the South End of Boston, Massachusetts, where he attended Hurley Elementary School and later Charles E. Mackey Middle/High School.

Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he received a Purple Heart. After several years of honorable service, he was honorably discharged. In 1980, Anthony began his career at Harvard University, where he dedicated 39 years of faithful service before retiring.

During his early years in Boston, Anthony met the love of his life, Karen Flemon, at Club Roscoe's in Roxbury. The two were united in marriage on March 24, 1985. From this loving union came six children: Stanley Flemon, Antonette Ellis, Latasha Ellis, Latoya Ellis (predeceased), Atwone Ellis Perry, and Edwin Ellis Perry.

Anthony was a devoted husband, an exceptional father, and a selfless provider. He was a faithful servant of God and served as an usher at The People's Baptist Church in Boston. His life was a living testimony of faith, love, and perseverance. He believed in never giving up and encouraged his children to push forward no matter the obstacles.

Anthony leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Karen Ellis, his siblings, Roald Ellis, Yvonne Ellis, Yvette Ellis, Kim Hopkins, Donna Ellis, and Cedric Ellis, Mike Rasmsey and his five beloved grandchildren: Stanstasia, Stanley Jr., Milton, Adonis, and Raymond, along with his sisters and brothers in laws: Janice/Ronnie McCoy, Regine/Emery Harston, Tara/Jeremy Workman, Walter Coleman, Larry Flemon, Eugene Flemon, Jo-Anne Fieldings and host of extended family and family and friends.

Anthony Favorite hobbies were fishing, BBQ's sending time with friend and family, or watching he's favorite team The New England Patriots, or listening to his old school music

Anthony's legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support will live on through all who knew him.

Daddy, we would have never made it without you. We will meet again in heaven.
