Anthony A. Formicola

Anthony Formicola, born on April 11, 1939, passed away on March 27, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Augustino and Mary Formicola. Anthony was a devoted husband to Maria Formicola for nearly 65 years. He was a loving father to Michele Radzibaba (Jurij) and Kenneth Formicola (Susan), and a cherished grandfather to Michael, Alexis, Anthony, and Julia. He also had the joy of being a great grandfather to Jackson and Olivia.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Tony graduated from Edward W Bok Technical High School. Upon graduation, he was recommended to a former alum who owned a small business distributing pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. Tony dedicated 45 years to this company before retiring in 2001.
Tony was a caring and loving husband who enjoyed vacationing with his wife and family in warm climates. He cherished the years when he and Maria were able to spend winter months at The Villages in Florida. As a father, Tony made every necessary sacrifice for his daughter and son. He loved being a grandfather, spending hours and hours of quality, loving time with his grandchildren, and getting to know his great grandchildren.
Raised and married in the Catholic church, Tony came to better understand the Good News and saving grace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 1973. He enjoyed reading his Bible and was committed to praying for his family.
In 2023, Tony and Maria moved into Southampton Estates, where they quickly made many friends in their new community. He was an avid football and baseball fan, often using his love of the Phillies and Eagles as a conversation starter. One of his other favorite things was enjoying a good meal with family and friends.
Family, friends, and residents are invited to celebrate Tony's life at his memorial service. Gatherings will begin at 10 a.m. with the service starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Southampton Estates Auditorium, located at 238 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966.
