Anthony James "Tony" Guidry

Anthony James Guidry, known to many as Tony, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Monday, May 26, 2025, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. He was 67 years old.
Tony was born on June 10, 1957, at Saint Thomas Hospital in London, England, and spent his childhood in Port Arthur, Texas but the majority of his life in Zebulon, North Carolina. He dedicated much of his career to the construction and repair of mobile office units, working as both a foreman and small business owner. In his later years, he enjoyed delivering vehicles for local car dealerships, taking pride in his work and the people he met along the way.
Tony was a hardworking and independent man who enjoyed lifes simple pleasures watching NASCAR on a Sunday afternoon, grilling outdoors, fishing on quiet mornings, and spending time near the water. Though he was known for being strong-willed and direct, he also had a gentle side that showed through in quiet moments with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Guidry; his son, Bradley Guidry; his sisters, Michele Guidry-Hockar and Nicole Forse; and his loyal dog, Louie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther James Guidry and Pat Guidry, his brother Craig Guidry, and his beloved dog, Sampson.
A celebration of Tonys life will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road in Knightdale, NC. Tony will be cremated, and his family will gather to honor and remember the life he lived and the impact he made.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
Tony will be remembered with love and respect by all who knew him.
