Anthony Gullo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wallingford Funeral Home - Wallingford on Nov. 13, 2024.
Anthony Michael Gullo, 75, beloved husband, best friend, guardian angel, and soul mate of Helen (Cerasale) Gullo, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He was born in Waterbury on November 21, 1948, a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Charest) Gullo.
In addition to his wife, Anthony survived by his sons, John Gullo of Meriden and Paul Gullo and his wife Jessica of Thonotosassa, FL; his grandchildren, Kyra, Makenzie, Bobby, and Jessica; his sisters, Joanne Wrisley and Ann Marie Oddo; his dear friends, who turned into family over the years, Melissa Baston, Mike Wickstrand, and Bob Kowalski; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Cindy Ford; and his brothers, George Marinello and James Gullo.
Tony served dutifully during the Vietnam conflict and was honorably discharged in 1972.
Forty years ago, Tony started his precision machining business, TG Industries, in his garage. Tony's business quickly grew from those humble beginnings to a state-of-the-art facility, due to his no-nonsense approach, his relentless focus on quality, continually investing for the future, and building a dedicated staff that shared his passion for doing what's right for their customers. Since the beginning, Tony made it a priority at TGI to develop the youth in the area who were interested in learning the precision machining trade. Tony not only graduated from H.C. Wilcox Technical School, but over the years he has invested in hiring and developing innumerable students from Wilcox and local schools, giving them the skills they need in today's modern manufacturing environment and beyond. Tony loved being in his shop, and his hands-on manufacturing expertise was often put to use in turning out what one could consider works of art for his customers. Tony was known for his willingness to share this knowledge and passion with all of those who were willing to learn from him.
Tony was a larger-than-life character who woke up each day ready to face the world with a smile, unmatched kindness, enthusiasm, quick wit, and always had a funny story or anecdote to share. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a dedicated husband and father, a talented, straight-forward businessman, his love for life, and his unparalleled ability to understand, connect with, and help others. He was also known for the occasional spontaneous roulette expeditions to Mohegan Sun and his preference for black 17.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., on Saturday, November 16th from 2:00 - 5:00pm. Interment will be held privately.
