Anthony F. "Tony" Karwatowicz

Anthony (Tony) Frank Karwatowicz passed away on August 7, 2023 in Florida. He was born on July 6, 1966 in Okinawa, Japan, son of military parents. Tony was the father of Isabela and Vivian, son of Frank and Patricia Karwatowicz, brother of Adam, Alex, and Amy (Peter) Giefer and Uncle to Nicholas, Madeline, Noah, and Nina.
A graduate from Saints Peter and Paul School, Benet Academy, Millikin University (B.A. Music/Business), and University of Illinois (MBA), Tony was a successful business entrepreneur starting, growing, and eventually selling a successful IT company. His passion; however, was music. He was truly blessed as a musician and songwriter, and generously shared this gift with others, especially his daughters. A true artist and friend, Tony expressed that combination in his band, The Velvet Cadillacs. To paraphrase Tony, "I am in a great band and it's with my best friends. #Happy-place".
For fun, Tony enjoyed gardening, baking bread, creating and sharing hot sauces, trying eclectic cuisines, and collecting Japanese memorabilia. His passion for fishing started at age three with his dad and brother, Adam.
He never missed celebrations for birthdays, graduations, Iowa family reunions, and enjoyed Wisconsin supper clubs. Some of Tonys's proudest moments were the births of his daughters and attending their musical performances. One never knew when Tony's unique humor would show up as a surprise gift in your mailbox for family, friends, and even friends' kids!
A funeral mass will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville, IL on Aug. 28th at 11:00am.
