Carolyn Ann DeGraff (nee Singer), age 88, a longtime resident of Naperville, IL, was welcomed by her Lord in Heaven early in the morning on May 26, 2025 in her room at StoryPoint Memory Care in Bolingbrook, IL. Carolyn was born on January 20, 1937 at Whitehall Community Hospital, near Pana, IL.
Carolyn is survived by her faithful husband of almost 67 years, Robert P. DeGraff; her loving children, Diane (Craig) Stanton, Steven (Heather) DeGraff, Thomas (Dawn) DeGraff, and Kevin (Linda) Noe; her cherished grandchildren, Nancy, Kristy, Abigail, Zachary, Julia, Luke, Tyler, Joshua, and four great-grandchildren. Besides her family, Carolyn made an impact on numerous lives and left behind many friends made wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her son, Karl DeGraff, son-in-law Steven Markowski, and her parents, CT and Anna Singer.
Besides being a doting wife and mother, Carolyn was a talented homemaker and seamstress. She taught tailoring and sewing at LaGrange Community College. While her children were growing up, Carolyn often was a substitute teacher at numerous Jr. High and High Schools in town. Once her children had grown older, Carolyn taught various subjects at Benet Academy and Calvary Christian School. After retiring from teaching, she became a tax preparer at H&R Block. Carolyn served and participated in many community groups including Community Concert Association, Newcomers Club, Band Mom, DAR, 4-H, and Cub Scouts. She volunteered at churches in the towns she had lived in by serving as a small group leader, Deaconess, choir member, Bible study participant, greeter and was a member of Calvary Church, Naperville, IL since 1978.
For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Carolyn's life, memorial donations may be directed to Calvary Christian School located in Calvary Church at 9s200 Rt. 59, Naperville, IL 60564.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Carolyn's life on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Church in the Chapel on the southeast end of the building, 9s200 Route 59, Naperville, IL 60564. A private family interment was held at Naperville Cemetery.

I have many memories of Carolyn going to the same church and school, being a part of the high school band etc. She was a great friend. In a better place now. May God Bless you and family.
