Anthony Long,67, passed away February 12, 2022 at home. He was born March 18, 1954 in Darby, the son of the late Mary and George Long Sr.
He was a 1972 graduate of Upper Darby High School, a member of Corpus Christi Catholic church and a volunteer fireman for twelve years with the Goshen Fire Co. in West Chester, PA.
He enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea fishing, football, he was an eagles fan, playing pool, watching the discovery channel and the history channel. He found history and politics fascinating.
Anthony was considered as a father and grandfather to many, even outside of his family.
Anthony is survived by two daughters: Janet Hoffer and Mary Long; grandchildren: Brianna Riordan, Joseph Hoffer, Robert Yocum; sister, Kathleen (Jack) Kelly, all from Chambersburg; brothers: George (wife Sue) Long Jr. of Norriton, PA and Francis (wife, Lori) Long of Drexel Hill, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; and two brothers, Robert Long and Charles Long.
A funeral service will be held at the Corpus Christi Parish Hall at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 19. 2022 with Fr. Allen F. Wolfe officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the Parish Hall. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery.
