Anthony J. Lujan,
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony J. Lujan, on January 19, 2026, at the age of 70. Anthony was born on August 23,1955, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to the loving union of Herman Jose and Emily Adelicia Lujan (Duran).
He spent his formative years in Pueblo, Colorado, where he was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church. During his youth he served as an altar boy and attended Sacred Heart School. It was here that his passion for track began, often racing the school bus on his way home, a glimpse of the dedication and determination that would define him. Anthony graduated from Centennial High School, where his athletic talents shone- he lettered in Track as a freshman and achieved first place at the state level on two occasions. These early accomplishments were a testament to his commitment and perseverance.
As an adult, Anthony made his home in Las Vegas, New Mexico, where he cherished close relationships with extended family. The presence of his aunt, Cleo Coca and uncles, Julio and Ruben Duran, brought him deep contentment and a sense of belonging - a true home away from home.
Anthony contributed to his community in numerous ways. His kindness, compassion, integrity and respect for others, made him well suited to his careers as a Paramedic and Psych Technician. In these roles, he touched many lives and made a lasting impact.
Anthony was known for his generosity, always willing to give to those in need. He did not hesitate to give CPR to his neighbor's dog, when called upon to help and he was a steadfast advocate for those who were ignored or mistreated. He believed that everyone had value and deserved respect.
Anthony took pride in his professional and creative pursuits, holding the titles of Paramedic, Psych Technician, writer, craftsman and artist. However, his favorite roles were those of uncle and godfather (Nino). He cherished children and though he was not able to be present in the daily lives of his nieces and nephews, he celebrated their adventures and achievements with great pride.
Anthony appreciated the individuality of everyone he met. He was selfless, placing the needs of others before his own and contemplative, valuing time spent in reflection. A voracious reader, Anthony had an unending thirst for knowledge.
He enjoyed and appreciated the uniqueness of each individual who came into his life. He was a giving person who placed the needs of others before his own. He quietly performed loving deeds, consistently showing his good heart. When his nephew, served in Iraq, Anthony honored him by flying a US flag until his safe return.
Anthony, leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings; Sam, who lovingly cared for him in the last 17 months of his life, Herman Jr. (Irma), Jeanette Trujillo (Emilio), Kathy Ann Bolte and Steven (Valerie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and close friends.
While his loss is deeply mourned, we take comfort in the belief that he is no longer suffering and that he left his earthly home, to be with his Heavenly Father. There will be rejoicing in heaven by those who welcome him there and for those of us who are left behind, he will be greatly missed.
