Anthony “Tony” Moore, 71, of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.

Anthony Dean Moore was born on July 5, 1954 in Marshalltown. He was the youngest of 11 children of Alfred and Anna (Abney) Moore. Tony graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1972. During high school, Tony played football and wrestled. He had previously worked in sales for James Phillips and worked many years as a bus driver for the Marshalltown School District. Tony enjoyed golfing and fishing with his brothers- Harold and Tom. He was also an avid Marshalltown Bobcats and Chicago Bears fan. Tony’s family will remember him for being a “natural comedian”. He had a stage presence about him that made him an entertainer. One such instance was the time he would write in permanent marker on his nieces and nephews faces.
Tony is survived by his siblings: Betty Phillips, Joyce Foreman, and Tom (Pat) Moore, all of Marshalltown, and Harold (Pat) Moore of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Anna; and siblings: Al Moore Jr., Dick Moore, Jimmy Moore, Anna Danner, Bobby Moore and Jerry Moore; along with his dogs: Boots and Penny and cat, Midnight.
