Anthony Joseph Pawlowski, 82, passed away on July 14, surrounded by family. Born in Monongahela, Pennsylvania in 1943 to the late Anthony Pawlowski, Sr. and Jean Ann Kobaly, Anthony lived a life dedicated to teaching and love for family and friends.
A graduate of Old Dominion and Norfolk State Universities, Anthony was a teacher of Construction and Carpentry at Virginia Beach Public Schools' Technical and Career Education Center for 34 years. He also worked with community leaders on the Virginia Beach Public Schools Education Foundation for many years. Anthony's passion for students and learning was evident in each classroom he taught.
When he wasn't involved with teaching, Anthony spent many years supporting his daughters in their various school activities. He was the proud father of two elementary school teachers and loved helping with classroom setups. Anthony also loved woodworking and making furniture.
As a dog lover, he spent many years active in American Kennel Club events and enjoying the numerous family dogs. He was a long time member of St. Stephen, Martyr Catholic Church and was active in the early building of the church.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife Diana and his two daughters Katie and Julie who inherited his dry humor and zest for life. He also leaves behind his sister Rosemary, brother-in-law Vincent, sister-in-law Sally, and brother-in-law Robert as well as many nieces and nephews. Anthony's warmth and kindness was experienced by everyone he met.
The family is having a private memorial at a later date.
