Verna Rae Gordon

Verna Rae Gordon, beloved daughter, passed away on March 8, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 41. She was born on April 12, 1984, on a military base in Japan, where her father, Michael Gordon, was stationed. Verna entered the world as a small yet vibrant presence, weighing only 4 pounds at birth, and quickly became the joy of her parents' lives.

Throughout her life, Verna faced medical challenges that required her to depend on others. Despite these difficulties, she was never considered a burden. To her mother, Lucila Gordon, Verna was always her cherished baby, a bond that remained strong throughout the years.

Verna is preceded in death by her father, Michael Gordon. She is survived by her devoted mother, Lucila Gordon, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members who loved her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations, where a viewing will take place from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a service in her memory. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Roosevelt Memorial Park, where Verna will be laid to rest.

Though her time with us was not long, Verna's spirit and the love she shared will forever be remembered by those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
