On November 27, 2025, Anthony Thomas "Snuffy" Rhymes, outstanding son, brother, father and friend, passed away suddenly at 51 years, 9 months, and 29 days.
"Snuffy" was born to Marvin Thomas Rhymes and Rhonda Joyce True Rhymes at Grand Valley Hospital in Pryor Oklahoma on January 29, 1974. He was welcomed by his sister Angela "Angie" Rhymes. After enjoying family, spring fed creeks, and his grandparents' farm, he and his family moved to Cypress, Texas when he was 6 years old.
His education began at Lamkin Elementary where he was introduced to sports with Cy-Fair Sports Association playing baseball and football, and he enjoyed a baseball championship and two undefeated football championships. At Arnold Junior High, he played defensive back and occasionally running back. At Cy-Fair Senior High, he was a two-sport letterman in baseball and football and was receiver of the year, BFND. He graduated in 1993. After high school, he attended Sam Houston State for one year in 1994, but decided college was not a good fit. He got an associate's degree in CAD Design from ITT in 1996.
He was in food service and bar tending a while and resumed this when times were hard in the "oil patch." He worked at many companies and became proficient in many jobs in the oil manufacturing business, including project management, estimating, purchasing and warehousing. His last job was at 5 Fab Energy, Inc.
He loved his family and grew ever close after the loss of his mother. He was so proud of his children and was pleased that Morgan was back in school to ensure her future and delighted that tutoring math had opened Brody's understanding. His children were his first love, Morgan Grace Rhymes and Brody Thomas Rhymes.
He called making soap and candles his therapy when he started. He had a natural "nose" for recognizing and decoding the scents. Kreative Honu and Wicked Snuff, his businesses became a pure delight. He was always so excited about this business venture and was always bragging about how it was going to take off with the help of his partner, Amber Powers. They were a perfect fit and stoked each other's creativity due to each other's qualities. He claimed and believed they were making the "best" candles in the world.
He enjoyed golf and played several courses in different states. One time, he played with two golf pros and he won the Pro/AM tournament and claimed he beat Jack Nicklaus the only time he played with him. He was also so proud of hitting a hole in one during that outing.
His humor was dry, sarcastic and cutting, but his heart was pure.
He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Walter and Nedra Rhymes and Edgar and Delois True, two aunts and two uncles, Barbara Hodges, Walda Weaver, Donald and Curtis True, and his mother, Rhonda Rhymes. Left to share beautiful memories are his father, Marvin Rhymes, his loving sister, Angie Rhymes, and his beautiful children, Morgan Grace and Brody Thomas Rhymes, and a host of friends and relations.
The family kindly requests that all family and friends attend the service at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, and then join them at the Creekwood Grill afterwards for a memorial gathering.
