Anthony Rogers Obituary

Age 95, of Magnolia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wed., May 28, 2025. He was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Cleveland, OH, a son of the late Anthony and Maria (Buontempo) Rogers, Sr. Tony was a member of St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morges and retired from Whitacre-Greer Fireproofing Company, Waynesburg, where he was employed for thirty years. He also worked at Colton's Home Center. Tony enjoyed remodeling and visiting Civil War sites, eating good Italian food, but what he enjoyed most was being with his family.
Preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Rogers, and his stepmother, Mattea Rogers. Survived by his loving wife, Janet (Kintz) Rogers with whom he would have celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary; one son, Stephen (Heidi) Rogers, three daughters, Mary Beth Long (Tim Truax), Lori Gureck (John Ugan), and Gina Rogers (Tracey Simmons); four grandchildren, Ryan Rogers (Dah Shee), Brandon (Jessica) Long, Shane Gureck and Aaron Gureck; and six great grandchildren, Anthony, Rocco, Roman, Delilah, Brooklyn and Brayden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tues. at 11am in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morges with Fr. Jonas Shell as Celebrant. Private committal in the St. Mary Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends in the church hall after the mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tony's memory may be made to: Magnolia Historical Society, P.O. Box 276, Magnolia, Ohio 44643. The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
