Anthony Roome Obituary
Anthony “Tony” Roome, age 82, of Lincolnton passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Atrium Health, Lincoln. He was born August 12, 1941 in Edlington, England to the late Edward and Agnes Kazire Birkin Roome. In 1968, Tony immigrated to the United States for work with Mohican Mills and then married the love of his life, Deanie, in 1970. He retired from Mohican after 36 years. He enjoyed gardening and working around outside.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Geraldine “Deanie” Mauney Roome of the home; daughters, Maxine Beeson (Darren) of England and Sharon Tumbleson (Larry) of Colorado; sister, Ann Fanshaw of England; grandchildren, Emma of England and Zack (Renee) of Colorado; and great grandchildren, Aleister and Talulah, of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews in England; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family in the US.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 3:00PM at Westview Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Rudisill officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2:00 to 2:45PM prior to the service at the church.
