Anthony John Stariha, of Shelby Township, Michigan, a beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at the age of 68.
Born on January 24, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, Anthony was the cherished son of the late John and Margaret (née Kelley) Stariha. He was raised in Royal Oak and graduated from Hazel Park High School. Following his education, Anthony attended trade school and went on to build a fulfilling career as a journeyman electrician. He was a proud and dedicated member of IBEW Local Union 58, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and professionalism.
On October 20, 1995, Anthony married the love of his life, Candy. Their union was filled with deep love, laughter, and cherished memories. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, family, and mutual devotion.
Anthony was a man of many passions. He found joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. A devoted husband and father, Anthony was known for his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and his strong faith in God. He led by example, living out his Catholic faith, showing those around him the importance of integrity, kindness, and perseverance.
He is survived by his loving wife, Candy Stariha; his daughter, DeAnn (Frank) Mercurio; and his siblings, Joe, Theresa, and Frank. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Stariha.
Anthony will be remembered for his unwavering faith, quiet strength, and the love he poured into his family and community. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Please check back for details.
