Jerry Steele, 64 of Mabelvale, AR, left his earthly body to go home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on May 23, 2025.

He leaves behind to cherish his beloved memory his wife Kathy Steele of 44 years, his son Jared Steele, brother Tommy Steele, sisters, Jamie Hughes, Pat Clayborn, and Cheryl Yedrysek, father-in-law Cliff Carson, brother-in-law Kevin Carson, sister-in-law Teresa Carson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends to mourn his absence.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Lucille Steele of Clarksville, AR, and mother-in-law LaVonne Carson of Hampton, AR.

He loved the Lord, his family and friends, and all animals. He especially loved his cats and the horses he used to work with before he retired. He loved being outdoors and was the happiest if he could see the sun and enjoy nature.

He was loyal, loving, selfless, generous, kind, giving, and patient beyond words. He was also incredibly quick-witted, and hilariously funny, and his smile and laughter will leave a gigantic hole in many hearts.

He was a passionate artist and loved creating many different kinds of art, from music-related figures and concert stages to serene 3-D landscapes and everything in between.

Jerry worked for the Arkansas-Democrat Gazette from 1992-2008 and at Sunset Valley Arabians from 2002-2024.

The horses considered him to be one of them since he had a "tail", his ponytail.

He will be cremated at Arkansas Cremation and there will be a memorial service at a later date, to be determined.
