Anthony Strollo Obituary

Strollo, Anthony "Tony" Ralph
WIMAUMA, Fla. - Anthony Ralph Strollo ("Tony"), 82, of Wimauma, Fla., and previously Loudonville, N.Y., passed away peacefully in Florida, on January 19, surrounded by his five sons.
Born July 8, 1943, in Batavia, N.Y., to Ralph and Virginia Strollo, Tony lived a life of service, entrepreneurship, adventure, and profound love.
Tony was a proud father and U.S. Army veteran (1963–1966). While in the Army, Tony served in South Korea, and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter, Marksman, and Distinguished Service Badge. In 1969, he joined the New York State Police, a job he loved, serving with honor, for 20 years until 1989. While on the N.Y.S. Police, Tony earned his Master's degree in criminal justice and authored a book titled "Four Long Days," about the 1971 Attica Prison Riot.
Inspired by nature and the joy and togetherness of family camping trips, Tony and his wife, Kathleen, founded Albany RV in 1984 and worked alongside their sons, building what became a national RV enterprise. Always on the go, Tony continued his pursuits and started Independent Security Services, blending his education, police background, and entrepreneurial grit. He taught his sons about hard work, dedication and loyalty by example every day, and inspired them to proudly follow in his footsteps.
Tony was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathleen, of 57 years, in 2023. He is survived by his sisters, Florence, MaryAnne, and Delores (DeeDee); his sons, Tom, Pat, Don, Mark, and Matt; and their wives, respectively, Jen, Michelle, Stacey, Katie, and Laura. Tony had eight grandchildren, whom he completely adored with all his heart, Serina, Zev, Sadie, Carlee, Connor, Owen, Avery, and Eli. He will be missed deeply by his immense and cherished friends across the country, his family, and his fiercely loyal dog, PuppyKay, all of whom hold him in their hearts forever. His lessons in family and living life to the fullest, leaves a strong legacy of joy, warmth, compassion and perseverance, which will be remembered by all who knew him.
Services will be held in Anthony's honor on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd., Loudonville, N.Y. 12211.
Wake at the church chapel, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at the church: 11 a.m to 12 p.m.
Burial at Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, N.Y., 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Anthony's memory to Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, N.Y., where all five sons attended high school. https://cbaalbany.org/give-now/

Tony was a true gentleman. I worked with Tony and Kathy in the first days of Albany RV, helping to get their insurance in place and even buying an RV from Tony to place in his new rental program. He had a zest for life , and you just knew how much he loved his family. He will be truly missed by those who knew him. I am sorry to be away during the services. My best to all his family.

I have lost a good friend, Boss, and a man that treated me like a son, no words can say what I am feeling. He was good to me and anyone who he met I will miss him like a father. Remembering the good times. Being at the house with him and Kathy, or at the office. Riding from Florida to Albany. Always being there for me and his generosity can´t be explained . Tony help people he did even know he was one of a kind. Also all his sons treated me like I was family. He will be greatly missed in my Heart. Rest in peace my friend Eddie G.

I had the honor of caring for Anthony over the past month. Albeit I did not get to know Anthony - his five sons were remarkable and shared so many heartfelt memories- a true example of how much of a loving, intelligent and devoted father Anthony was to his 5 sons. God Bless!

I knew Tony very well! I assisted with a Blue Knights NY VIII motorcycle event for years. The "Attica Memorial" run was very near and dear to his and my heart! At the beginning, Tony was just learning to ride his motorcycle and stayed with him the entire way, I case he needed moral support! Both he and Larry Moyer, the then President of NY8 were instrumental with the start of this great activity in honor of all those Correctional Officers who were involved in the Attica Riot or who lost their lives due to the uprising!
Tony, YOU WILL BE MISSED!

To the Strollo family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I was the realtor who sold Tony and Kathy their house in Loudonville it took us over nine months to find a house but once they saw this one, they knew it was the family forever home. I have many great memories of those nine months. Your dad will live on in all those he´s touched. He´s at peace now and with his beloved wife. He had a full blessed life. He´s an angel now watching over all his loved ones.

Tony was an awesome boss at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He befriended me at Public Safety and was a great LT.and fair in every way. I was a martial artist and he shared his experience with his son's being in the art. It was a sad day when he moved on and retired from there. I know he loved his family and he will be missed by all of us that got the chance to work with him. Tony may you rest in peace and I will always smile when I think of you. You impacted m my life and many others. I am honored to have met you and will always have great respect.God bless your family and may God keep them close at this difficult time. And his book is awesome..GOOD MAN..WITH LOVE AND RESPECT..KAREN DALE AND FAMILY

Dear Pat, Tom, Don, Mark, Matt and family:

I am very sorry to hear about Mr. Strollo's passing, he was a great man and I have fond memories from St. Pius X, CBA and the shenanigans we caused hanging out at 31 Margaret Drive! I always enjoyed my conversations with Mr. Strollo about his Army service (my dad served as well in S. Korea), being a State Trooper and of course becoming a successful entrepreneur during many visits to "the lot" when it was on exchange street. I know I was unable to attend and pay my respects for Mrs. Strollo's services when she passed due to a business trip, but I will be there next Thursday morning for you. Thinking of you and the Strollo family during this tough time, you have a lot to be proud of and remember. Hang in there.
