Anthony “Tony” Lee Christian, 69, of Washington, Kansas, passed away on September 15, 2025. He was born July 27, 1956, in Center, Texas, to Robert and Dessie (Bryan) Christian.
Tony attended Beckville High School through the 11th grade and later proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and later spent over two decades as a machinist.
Tony married Vicki (Harlan) Mackey, and together they shared many years. Through their marriage, he became a stepfather to Valerie and grandfather for Scott, a role he embraced with love and pride.
Outside of work, Tony enjoyed sailing and was an active member of a yacht club. He loved cooking, especially smoking meats, and spent much of his time tinkering with mechanical projects.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki (Harlan) Christian; father, Robert Christian; sister, Susan Christian; and stepson Joseph Mackey.
Survivors include his mother, Dessie Christian; his stepdaughter, Valerie and husband Derrick Yu; brothers, Herbert “Neil” Christian and wife Verah, and Bryan Christian and wife Kathy; and step-grandson, Scott Fankhauser and wife Mariah, and their son Miles.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at the Wesleyan Church in Belleville, Kansas.
Viewing and Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at the church.
Burial will be Monday, September 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at Blakeley Cemetery, rural Madison, Kansas.
