Stone Ridge - It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Anthony Walters Jr., 79, of Stone Ridge NY, on April 10th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tony, as he was known to all, was born on April 5, 1946, to the late Anthony Walters Sr. and Helen Clum Walters. Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged, Tony began his career at the Port Authority Police Department of NY and NJ. He worked at the World Trade Center for 20 years, serving the public. His fond interest in cars brought him to many car shows where he enjoyed the day mingling with people. Tony was an outgoing person and was always there to help anyone who needed him.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Elaine (Hlinko) Walters; son Anthony Walters III; son Wayne Walters and his wife Lisa Walters; his most treasured grandchildren, Tyler, Neeve, and Brenna.
He is also survived by his sister Patricia Cottiers and brother Gary Walters. He was predeceased by his elder brother Carl Walters and is survived by many family members, with whom he shared special occasions and memories.
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday April 14 from 4 to 7 PM at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale.
His funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday April 15 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Stone Ridge. Memorial donations are requested to the Marbletown First Aid Unit, PO Box 323, High Falls, NY 12440.
