Robert "Bob" Kinlin

Robert "Bob" Kinlin, 72, of Bloomington, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday August 8, 2025. Born on January 23, 1953, in Hoboken, New Jersey, Bob was a cherished brother, devoted husband, beloved stepfather, and loyal friend whose warmth, humor, and generosity touched countless lives.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, James and Rosemary Kinlin, and by his wife, Barbara. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Kinlin, with whom he shared deep love, laughter, and partnership. Bob also embraced and was embraced by Nancy's family, becoming a devoted brother-in-law and beloved uncle, grandfather and a treasured part of their lives.

He is also survived by his siblings: Rosemary Mahr (Mendel), James Kinlin (Jayne), Dorothy Walters (Max), and Daniel Kinlin (Tammy). Bob was a proud and loving presence in the lives of his many stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, as well as his dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He will be remembered fondly by Nancy's extended family and by the many lives he touched as a cherished friend and mentor.

A skilled handyman, painter, and true jack of all trades, Bob brought creativity, care, and reliability to every task. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Pace University and dedicated many years of his life to the field of addiction, substance abuse, and recovery. Through both his professional work and personal experience, he became a source of strength and wisdom to countless individuals, especially within the fellowship of Bill W.

Bob was also an avid outdoorsman, with a deep love for golf and fishing. He proudly won the Columbia County Annual Championship Tournament, and found great peace and joy in time spent in nature and in the company of friends.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Thursday August 14 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at George J. Moylan Funeral Home, 2053 Route 32, Rosendale, NY. Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate his funeral services at 5 PM following the visitation. (www.GJMoylanFuneralHome.com)
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Bob's memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Hospice of the Hudson Valley, two causes close to his heart.

Bob's legacy of compassion, resilience, and unconditional support will live on in the many lives he touched and the love he shared.
