Anthony “Poppa Tony” Wider age 71 of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at Kobacker House surrounded by family on September 7, 2023. He was born on April 12, 1952. Survived by his daughters Cali Wider (Seth), Carrie Rollison (Jeff), Carmen Woods (Steve), Darla McNamee, grandson Tristin Joseph (TJ) Emanoff, granddaughter Sadie Lane Hilliard, ex-wife but good friend Karan Wider, siblings Barbara Cremeans, Jerry Mays, Jerome Beardsley, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Proceeded in death by his parents Felix Wider and Barbara Mays, son Johnny McNamee, sisters Sandy Gayness and Collette Mays, brother Andrew Mays, and fur baby Chaos.
Poppa Tony loved his family but equally had a love for motorcycles. He would love to take local rides as well as long distance road trips with his church friends. Thank you to Pastor Tim for supporting Tony and praying for his safe journey.
Poppa Tony was a true Marine. Once a Marine always a Marine. Services will be held at VFW. Date to be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kobacker House. A big thank you to Kobacker House and staff for the excellent care of Poppa Tony and all the family. Your care and kindness helped a very sad time become bearable.
Rest in Peace Dear Poppa Tony. Until we meet again. Love you forever. You will never be forgotten.
