Antoinette Gioia

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beautiful, caring mother, Antoinette Gioia. She lived by the words, "I did what I had to do to survive!"
Born on October 17th, 1931, she grew up in East New York, better known as Brooklyn. She was the fourth child of six siblings, born to Giovanni and Anna Seminerio. They grew up during The Great Depression era and they did what they had to do to survive!
She and our dad married on November 4th 1950. They shared a life together for 56 years until his passing in 2006. They did what they had to do to survive and they did!
Her door was always open to family and friends. She would welcome you into her home with coffee and cake to chit chat at her kitchen table.
She was a strong minded woman who gave her opinion, weather you liked it or not. But, she was an honest person and that was her appeal.
Antoinette is predeceased in death by her husband, Vito Gioia (2006). They were married for 56 years. She is survived by her three children, Angelo Gioia (& Carole), Maria Massimiano (& Nick) and Anna Zumbach (& Kent). She has seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
