It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antonino “Tony” Donzelli, who left this world on July 10, 2025, in Parker, Colorado, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 7, 1942, in Sicily, Italy, Tony’s early journey began as a brave teenager when he immigrated to America at the age of 14. His journey was one of resilience, much like the dough he kneaded during his early career as a baker at Carbones Bakery, where he created delicious sweets, rolls, and bread that nourished both body and spirit.

Tony had a warm and assertive personality; he was known for his rigid and traditional values, yet he exuded love and kindness to all who knew him. As he transitioned into the commercial printing industry, he continued to embrace each new chapter with dedication and hard work. This tireless work ethic was not just about securing a livelihood; for Tony, it was a means of building a life rich with family and accomplishment.

One of his proudest achievements, aside from raising his beloved daughter Mary Ann and doting on his six grandchildren, was mastering the English language. It was a testament to his determination and desire to connect with his new home. The proud moment when he purchased a metallic blue, convertible Corvette was symbolic of the American dream he aspired to, a dream he built slowly yet surely, one brick at a time.

Tony’s love for cooking was legendary, particularly his art of crafting mouth-watering pizzas in the comfort of his garage oven—a true labor of love that delighted his family. He had a profound appreciation for the simple joys in life, often found tending to his vegetable garden or walking at Sloans Lake, where he enjoyed the beauty of nature while visiting friends at different grocery stores and sharing stories amidst the laughter. Avocados held a special place in his heart—possibly a small reflection of his larger appreciation for wholesome goodness.

He is survived by his loving daughter Mary Ann (Scott), his cherished grandchildren who adored him, and his devoted sisters—Giovanna, Angela (Romolo), and Gina. Each of these relationships illuminated Tony’s life, forming a loving circle that kept him grounded and fulfilled.

Tony Donzelli will be deeply missed—his laughter, wisdom, and the warmth he brought into every room. As we gather to honor him, we remember a man who embodied strength, tradition, and a boundless love for those around him.

Services in his memory will be held on July 24, 2025, starting with a viewing at Newcomer Funeral Home in Lakewood at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service will take place at 1:00 PM at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery Tower of Memories in Wheat Ridge, where family and friends are invited to pay their respects. A reception will follow at Newcomer Funeral home from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

As we reflect on Tony’s remarkable life, let us cherish his journey, his laughter, and the profound love he shared with each of us. May his legacy continue to inspire and remind us of the importance of family, resilience, and the comforting simplicity of good food shared among loved ones.
