Antonio "Tony" Lopez was born on April 24, 1968 to parents Epifanio and Margaret Lopez in Camden, NJ.
Tony was raised and spent most of his life in Camden, where he also received his education through the Camden city public school system.
He was a father to two sons, Antonio and Julian, whom he loved so dearly. Tony took a step out on faith for a fresh start for himself and those he loved. He relocated to Dover, NJ where he spent years working as a carpenter and mason with A & Z construction. Not only did he enjoy building for others, but it was there where he built a new life for himself and those he loved.
Tony enjoyed home improvement projects and fixing just about anything he could get his hands on. One might say "a jack of all trades is a master of none", but surely he was "better than a master of one". Tony had a green thumb, he could often be found in the yard watering plants and took great joy in gardening with his sister, Andrea.
He loved his family and enjoyed birthday milestones with his oldest sister, Margarita and spending quality time at home with his youngest sister, Esther. Tony had a special relationship with his brothers Epifanio and Michael, when they were together it was as if they had never missed a beat. Antonio was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes of his character. He was not just a builder of homes and structures but also of relationships, continually strengthening the bonds with his family, friends, loved ones, and community. Always willing to lend a helping hand.
Beyond his professional life, he was also a gifted cook. His meals, like Antonio himself, were generous, filled with love, and incredibly delightful.
However, what mattered most to Antonio was his family. He was a pillar of strength for his siblings - Margarita, Epifanio, Andrea, Esther and Michael, and a beacon of love and wisdom for his sons, Antonio and Julian. His granddaughters, Melody, Queen, and Cherish, were the apples of his eye and brought him immense joy.
Our loving, generous, compassionate, and resilient Antonio "Tony" Lopez departed from us on June 12th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Epifanio and Margaret Lopez, and his brothers, Emmanuel and Richard.
He leaves behind to cherish their memories, his two sons Antonio Lopez and Julian Lopez, his siblings Margarita, Epifanio, Andrea, Esther and Michael Lopez, his granddaughters Melody, Queen, and Cherish Lopez, his companion Luz Lopez, friend Christina Rodriguez, along with his beloved family and friends.
Tony's spirit lives on in his family and in the lives of all those he touched. Antonio made us feel loved, cherished, and valued. As Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Antonio was a living embodiment of this, touching the lives of those around him with his warmth and kindness.
Let us remember Antonio for the loving, generous, compassionate, and resilient man that he was. His legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.
