Antonio G. Rivera Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on April 26 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born on September 14, 1938, in Corpus Christi, TX he was a devoted husband to Maria M. Rivera for 68 years and loving father to Anna Marie, Gracie, Tony Jr., Richard, Steve, Debbie, David, and Brandie. Antonio was hard-working and dedicated to his family. He retired after 45 years of hospitality service in the hotel industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Basilio Sr. and Evarista Rivera, sisters Connie Valls, Herlinda Munguia, Eloisa Gonzales, brothers, Raymundo Rivera, Faustino Rivera, Basilio Rivera Jr, Severiano Rivera, son, Antonio (Tony) Rivera Jr., granddaughter, Tasia Marie Silvas, and grandson Richie De La Garza, Jr.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Maria M. Rivera, daughters, Anna Marie (Michael) Silvas of Beeville, Graciela (Juan) Duran of Corpus Christi, Debbie Rivera of Corpus Christi, Brandie Papageorge of Corpus Christi, sons, Richard (Becky) Rivera of Corpus Christi, Steve (Elva) Rivera of Corpus Christi, David (Esther) Rivera of South Padre and sister, Aurora Costilla of Corpus Christi along numerous grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at Holy Family Church beginning at 10:30 AM, Rosary at 11:30 followed by a funeral mass and interment at Rose Hill Memorial Park at 1:00 PM
Pallbearers are grandsons, Michael A Silvas ll, Matthew A Silvas, Mario Rivera, Anthony Perez, Richard Rivera, Jr, and Christopher Rivera and Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Brian Rivera Michael Rivera, and Marco Pina. To send flowers to the family of Antonio, please visit our floral store.
