Antonio Sisto, 85 of Toms River, N.J. passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Antonio was born in Naples, Italy, to Pasquale and Guilia (née Gentile) Sisto. He spent his childhood and early adult years in Italy before immigrating to the United States in 1958. He initially resided in Newark before moving to Belleville, where he lived for 47 years before eventually settling in Toms River. Antonio was a talented tailor, was a devoted fan of Juventus FC, and cherished spending his summers at the Jersey Shore. He loved holidays, family gatherings, good food, but most of all his two grandsons.
Predeceased by his beloved parents and his siblings, Giuseppe, Vito, Marie and Nicky, he is survived by his devoted wife of almost 53 years this April, Maryann (nee Lardieri) Sisto; loving daughter Patricia Altobello and her husband, Joseph and son Anthony Sisto; as well as treasured grandchildren Nicholas and Zachary Altobello.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, January 18 at 8:30 a.m. at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, Little Falls with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday, January 17 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be shared at gaitamh.com.
