Rest in Peace, though I knew you for a few short years, you had an impact in my life when I most needed

Dear Loving Family of Aphrodite Matsakis,
When I was 17 at Webster Groves
High School in 1961 to 1962, I fell in love with Aphrodite Matsakis. I was in the class of 1962. I remained in Love with Aphrodite for my entire life. I am turning 80 soon. Sincerely Yours,
Dr. Larry C. Butler, Organic Chemist,

We are all at a loss for words to even begin to express our condolences for the huge loss of Aphrodite to the family, and all of her many many friends both up close and afar. Aphrodite´s a woman of strong faith (current tense always) please know she´s more alive and joy filled to overflow more than ever now and forever with Jesus.
Our deep friendship began long ago in 2005 when I first got to meet one of my greatest author-heroes in life finally, all around our common love for children´s causes, worshipping together the divine liturgy and the fantastic DC Greeks dances. Ekaterini and I have been blessed with her close loving friendship for many years. Aphrodite is (current tense) ALIVE AND JOYFUL and while on earth she was perhaps one of the most giving healing and saintly Christ-like angelic caring persons we will ever know.
To grandchildren Magdalena and Sophia, Rosario and Niko, your beloved YiaYia will always look down upon you from Paradise with more love than you can know. Read her many books and keep her legacy alive, look always to her example (and everyone else in your blessed family) of striving for excellence in all that you do for God and for others in your life, knowing that the many gifts and talents bestowed upon you all are on loan from God, entrusted to you to develop and exercise for the benefit of humanity, as your YiaYia lived for God all her entire life. She told us this and she lived it well: Prota O Theos, first is God!
Know God’s love and your YiaYia’s love for each of you more and more all the rest of your lives, and also the love of your mothers Theodora & Magdalena, your faithful fathers, your wonderful Theo Demetrios & Thea Cindy and Theo Elias & Thea Joanne and cousin Antigone and others of the close-knit Matsakis family.
Our love & prayers,
Markos & Ekaterini
